Practical Methodology for Acquiring Key Competences of European Reference Framework through Continuous Vocational Education and Training

PRERF1 ESIf you are a PERSONAL ASSISTANT or a personal assistant trainer then this Project is for you. Through PR-ERF a holistic methodology will be developed to help you to develop yourself in the European Reference Framework competences, taking into account the specifics of your own profession.

PR-ERF project is two year Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation project whose aim is to develop a holistic methodology for recognition and development of 8 ERF Key Competences as a package of Skills, Knowledge and Attitudes that all individuals need to acquire through CVET for personal fulfilment, development, inclusion and employment.

Ageing Workforce: How to Make the Challenge an Opportunity

LIKEathensIn September concludes the European initiative LIKE, focused on combating age barriers in employment and adaptability of older workers to the changing business and social environment. The closure conference of LIKE project, which took place in Athens (Greece) on September 25th, brought together many experts from various international organizations working in the field of employment, together with the project partners, who could exchange knowledge and experiences on the subject area.

Like partnership, was one of the first consortia to look at how the growing ageing population regarded as one of the biggest challenges Europe has to face, can be, through innovative management and investment in Human Resources turned into a huge asset.

During the first part of the closure event key findings of the project and innovative tools developed by LIKE partnership were presented. The Model for Age Management at workplaces including comprehensive approaches such as: Recruitment and retention without age discrimination, training programs for older workers, intergenerational programs, flexible working conditions, promoting health at work, etc. was also introduced.

JOB BROKER Visiting Reykjavik

jobBroker1In a changing labour market, the job brokering activity requires knowledge, skills and competences from different disciplines that have to be put into practice interacting with diverse actors.

This has been one of the issues addressed by the partnership of the project "JOB BROKER.- The evolving role of the JOB BROKER across the EU" in the last meeting held on 18th and 19th September in Reykjavic. Skills that the JOB BROKER should unfold in its relation to both the job seeker, the employer or the public bodies responsible for the different processes of employment fall within the areas of communication, soft skills development, emotional intelligence, advice and career guidance, knowledge of logic business, administrative process, management, team work, etc.

One of the concrete objectives of the project is the definition of knowledge, skills and competences of Job Broker against EQF and NQF in the partner countries. The result will be a better knowledge of this emerging profile at european level.

DOCUMENTA visits the Netherlands

PR ERF TILB1‘PR-ERF’ 2nd transnational meeting was held on 10th – 11th of July 2014 in Tilburg, Netherlands. The meeting was dedicated primarily to elaboration of 8 ERF competences curricula and creation of e-learning platform.

During the first day the partnership presented the research results in all partner countries which aimed to gather information about current situation regarding ERF Key competences in CVET. As a result partners have done an inventory of existing training curricula and methodologies in ERF 8 competences in CVET. Moreover partners reported about first meetings of national expert group for assistance in development of training material.

Major part of the second day consisted of 2 brainstorimng sessions: one on the template for the curriculum development for 8 Key Competences, and the other on the ideas regarding the e-learning platform.

PR-ERF projects enters in a second phase that will lead to the development of training curricula, methodological tools for trainers and selfa-assesment tool on KCs.

The main goal of the project is to adapt the European Reference Framework for Key competences (ERF KCs) to CVET to facilitate learners` personal fulfillment, development, inclusion and employment.
