DOCUMENTA ATTENDED AT THE SECOND TRANSNATIONAL MEETING OF THE MINGLE’S PROJECT

MINGLEsegundareunionDocumenta attended at the second transnational meeting, which was celebrated in Uppsala (Sweden) the last 12th and 13th of July. The program is aimed to promote the integration in long term for Third Country Nationals people in the host community, creating bonds between local agents through exchanging cultural experiences. Participants will be trained in language skills, working on political, social and institutional trust, and mentoring sessions will take place responding to an individual needs.

People from all the organizations which working together in the implementation of the project assisted at the meeting, where they specified the best strategies for the best way in which the project should be continued to have a great impact on society.

Besides, the participants knew and learnt to manage the language tool designed by MMC (Mediterranean Management Center) on a previous European project, which is related with the training on host language skills for migrant people (Third Country Nationals, TCNs). During the meeting’s training, in charge of the Greek organization, the steps for the language courses’ implementation were displayed in a formal and structured way, for an efficient development and better adaptation at the own necessities of each person who will participate in the program.

This tool, encompassed on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, understands integration in a holistic way and it bases the language’s learning into the daily experiences, so the linguistic comprehension is cottoned in a practical perspective inside the everyday life. Thus, the training has a great innovative nature and it is very effective from the point of view of communication in the host community.

After the meeting, where the organizations (from Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Germany and Sweden) contributed with new ideas that enriched the debate and the work structure of the project, Documenta will start to work on adapting both the tool and the materials. Thus, it will be possible to start in September with language training for people interested in innovative forms of learning, focusing on the vast majority of factors that consolidate integration: contact with people from the host society through cultural and political knowledge, fostering institutional and social trust.
