Documenta presents the MINGLE project at the association La Columbeta (Solares)

aDocumenta imparted a workshop on social intervention with an intercultural perspective for volunteers. During this space, the president of the organization, Javier Farto, explained to the attendees the MINGLE project, Generating Social and Human Capital for Third Country Nationals. The suitability of the context meant that the people who attended were really interested in the content of the project and the activities designed within the program's roadmap.

MINGLE is a project that seeks to facilitate active citizenship and the integration of TCNs through collaboration and networking with different social agents of the host community. In addition, its activities promote interaction, which leads to greater integration in society, the empowerment of people who participate through the improvement of their personal skills and social skills, as well as a better knowledge of the community and available resources. As a consequence of this intervention, there is an improvement in the individual economic, labour, social perspectives, etc.

This program, which began in January of this year, has a transnational network of 10 organizations in 5 partner countries (Germany, Cyprus, Spain, Greece and Sweden). The project, financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) of the European Commission, follows the line of the European policies of integration and social inclusion of different groups with difficulties for the exercise of citizenship. This program focuses on the basic aspects that foster integration: social interaction, social and institutional trust and culture. From the AMIF it is understood that measuring integration only on an economic basis ignores the social factors that contribute to it and can sustain long-term economic results.

The innovative nature of the project is based on the use of methodologies aimed at increasing the human and social capital of the beneficiaries and the design of personalized itineraries (support of tutors and mentors), and the transfer of technological tools tested in other European projects.
