On May 21 and 22, DOCUMENTA, as a member and founding partner of Catabrian Network against Poverty and Social Exclusion (EAPN Cantabria), took part in the 6th European Congress Against Poverty, organized by EAPN Spain in collaboration with the Territorial Network of Cantabria, and held at the Magdalena Palace in Santander. The event aimed to draw attention to public policies and income support systems at the European, national, and regional levels, with a particular focus on the first European Anti-Poverty Strategy announced by the European Commission.

The sessions, centered on income guarantee policies, featured speakers such as Roxana Mînzatu, Vice President of Social Rights at the European Commission; Elena Rodríguez, Secretary General at the Ministry of Inclusion; David Perejil, Director General at the Ministry of Social Rights; Begoña Gómez del Río, Minister of Social Inclusion for the Government of Cantabria; and Gema Igual, Mayor of Santander.

Around one hundred people attended the various panels of the Congress, where key issues for EAPN-ES in the area of minimum income were addressed. Topics included the European Council’s recommendations on adequate income, regional inclusion policies, and strategic proposals to improve income guarantees and the rights of individuals.
